Davaar Island.
The volcanic outcrop which sits at the mouth of Campbeltown Loch
is joined to the mainland at low tide by a stretch of shingle known as the Dhorlinn.
Check out the tide times from the tourist information centre on the pier before
you attempt to make the crossing as there have been a number of people either
marooned on the island, or even worse, caught by the tide when halfway across.
It's the site of the cave painting of Jesus on the cross, created by Alexander
MacKinnon (no relation) in 1887.
