Campbeltown-Ballycastle Ferry Service

Irish Ferry
Irish Ferry
The pictures shown here were all taken just a few weeks before the ferry's first sailing on the 1st of July 1997. The one on the left shows the ferry being repainted from her original Caledonian McBrayne colour scheme of black and white with red funnels to the Argyll & Antrim Steam Packet Company light blue. In the larger picture you can just make out the company's logo. The lump of land to the right is Davaar Island which sits at the mouth of the loch.

Ticket Office
Ticket Office
Here we have the ticket office and waiting room. For those who know the area this is at the head of the new pier, just diagonally across the road from the DHSS buildings.

Slipway
Slipway
Show here on the left is the new covered area next to the ticket office, to the right at the end of the pier you can just make out the hydraulic link span, built at the local Campbeltown Shipyard which allows the vehicles to safely cross the gap onto the ferry.
